Touching Replay

by John Duarte September 10, 2024 0 comments

Sudden movement
restless
moths dance around
before settling on
her moist skin
hot Texas night
artificial suns created
in those
orange city lights
ecstatic invocations
throughout
wild maniacal laughter
enmeshed forever

mind replay
that
shy blonde immaculate
girl in her
dimensional expanse
sudden movement
restless

editors note:

Preferring a live performance, we settle for the DVD. – mh clay

A bit about John: My sanity is tied to my writing. It is a compulsory activity that allows me to escape the day to day. My first poem was written in 1982 Dallas, TX, it has been a daily habit ever since. I'm of an artistic mind since birth, writing just one part, the most important part. I try to paint with words in a surreal abstract way, sometimes it works others not so much. Living in many areas of the states has given me numerous life adventures to draw upon, all combined into words, art, sound and colour. The Beat poets have had the biggest influence on me. In turn, I've discovered many other wordy men and women to be inspired by. I welcome the chance to share my work with anyone willing to read it. Some good, some bad, some forgettable. I've worked in the medical field many years, and so very happy to have a creative outlet to ease my melancholy soul.
