This road was once a river bed,
That moon was once a severed head
Then things began to move & shift
& hum, & gave my heart a lift.
Amy, I know, understands
The way the universe expands
With every new thing we don’t know,
How every movement in the snow
Twists a shadow (primrose blue),
Resolves it into cockatoo
(let’s say); and if twisted twice,
Melts winter into paradise.
I hope you’ll be inspired by
Some strange reflection in the sky
One day. Or failing that, a light
Where no light shines, on some dark night.
