The Sun

The world hangs in the balance;
We sit and watch genocide;
helplessly.

We turn from ourselves, become lost in trivia
shadows running from the sun;

She loved the One that much
that her love became a lust;
burnt by the flash of scorching light
She fell into dust.

The day burns me and I run.

Our lives hang in the balance.

As we sit and watch,
thousands are being slaughtered;
helplessly, we watch.

dissolved into this treacherous night.
we fade with the day

as the day runs away from us, from the sun.

editors note:

No light, no sight. Some things are just too hard to watch. – mh clay
