Somewhere out there,
in the gut of the universe
or maybe upon its skin
among the infinity of living beings,
+ + + you
+ + + + + + are
+ + + + + + + + + alive,
+ + + + + + + + + + + + thinking,
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + dreaming
at this very instant,
and just as I’m holding you
in my mind’s eye,
you are holding me.
Entangled by the same thought,
we are two specks of dust
caught in the same inflated bubble,
sensing each other’s invisible presence.
If I say hello, will you hear?
If you say farewell, will I miss you?
You, somewhere out there,
and me, right here,
but it’s all the same,
as if you were near.
When you say hello, I don’t hear.
When I say farewell, you don’t listen.
