Picking Lemons

Her jaded beauty
Polished with dainty:
Cosmetics.

Resplendent glowing,
Linament spread.
Her fiddling and trivia:
Inviting attention,
In the street.

I see them,
Curious to look at.
A turn of affiliation:
As I interface.
A prick on my fingers
Awake.

And,
I find myself
Picking lemons,
On a tree.

This is a poem I will be spending time with – it reads very soothingly and I am fascinated by word choice and placement. Most important to me, it draws me in, because it’s subject is mysterious.
