Rapier (In Protest of Fracking)

Injected venom shoots
through her veins
daggers shove deep

in soft folds of belly
Womb scraped
then scrapped

tainted and splintered
take all her honey
drain her of lifeblood

Still, thrust deeper
Frack her and fuck her
Mine her and maim her

Smother her screams
till quakes are her cries
and death is her dream

Sharon Frye is a poet living in Northern Oklahoma. When not delivering mail, she enjoys photography as well as writing. In August, 2013, she was invited to read her work at the Fermoy International Poetry Festival in Ireland. She has collaborated with Irish narrative artist, Eabha Rose in audio production and is currently working on a recording in which she recites her poems with musicians.

Her chapbook, Last Chance for Rain was published in April, 2014 and is now available on Amazon or directly through her. One of her poems, Dollar Store Princess was nominated for the Pushcart Prize by Writing Knights Press in 2014. She is now working on publication of a full length book of poems to come out soon.

Sharon has been invited to read her poetry at Sacramento Voices in June, 2015. She has poems published in these anthologies and journals:
