Mad Swirl Open Mic : 08.05.26

Join Mad Swirl this 1st Wednesday of August (aka 08.05.26) when we’ll be doin’ the open mic voodoo that we do at Barbara’s Pavillion!

We will get things started with some musical grooves brought to you by special musical guest, Tocayo starring Carlos Salas! Then, starting at 8pm(ish), hosts Johnny O & MH Clay will set the stage for some open mic madness!

This month we will be launching Tyler Malone’s book “Son of a Chicken Killer” (brought to you by Mad Swirl Press). Here’s what Mad Swirl Poetry Editor MH Clay has to say about Tyler’s collection:

“Son of a Chicken Killer” contains piles of words that worm their way through a “perpetually imbalanced existence.” Tyler Malone shows the reader a wasteland of recall, dotted throughout with little oases of hope and “routine dopamine anticipation.” He does not look for healing but clarity, “the curse of awareness.” So, let the reader beware and read if you dare (but read, you must).
