Join Mad Swirl this 1st Wednesday of July (aka 07.02.25) when we’ll be doin’ the open mic voodoo that we do at Barbara’s Pavillion!
We will get things started with some musical grooves brought to you by Swirve (Chris & Tamitha Curiel, Gerard Bendiks) then this month’s host MH Clay & guest host Opalina Salas will set the stage for some open mic madness!
This month we are featuring longtime Swirler, Contributing Poet, artist and birder, Alan Gann! Here’s a bit about Alan:
Retired teaching artist, slacker wanna-be, and ne’er-do-well and worst of all, a hiker with bad knees, Alan Gann tends to be an entertaining purveyor and presenter of poetry. A Contributing Poet at Mad Swirl, he is proud to have also been featured in their Mad Gallery and on their Short Story library. Multiple Pushcart and Best-of-the-Net nominee, Alan is the author of three volumes of poetry including his latest from Assure Press, Better Ways to See, which celebrates his parents with bird and ekphrastic poems. Really, he’d rather be outside birdwatching, or biking — maybe taking a photo or two. If you’re so inclined, buy him a Guinness or shot of Jameson. He’ll be grateful.
