Mad Swirl is excited to welcome Louella Lester back to the Mad Gallery with more of her charming photographs. In her latest series, we find leaves and twigs arranged in unexpected corners of her home — on a plate or a scale or even the toilet — as if nature is sneaking back into the space we think we’ve tamed. There’s humor in her compositions, but also tenderness, a curiosity about how fragile beauty can coexist with the mundane. By pairing the organic with the manmade, Lester reminds us that the natural world doesn’t always stop at the door. Sometimes it lingers, adapts, and makes itself at home. ~ Madelyn Olson
